If you're new to the whole idea of the internets, let me assure you that yes, it is now world wide, and it is indeed, if not an actual superhighway, at least a very big road. So big, in fact, that objects on the side of the road go by in a blur.
In the interests of picking up things from the side of the road and holding them up for your perusal, like some loveable old hobo with a live mouse stuck in a beer bottle, I've got a links column over on the side.
One site I recommend in particular is Hullabaloo, a political blog run by a fellow who calls hiimself Digby. He's opinionated, far left of center, and an extremely good writer, which in a tumult of blogging voices is a real relief. He doesn't post all that often, but when he does it's usually something I wish I'd written, if I could form a clear sentence or make any sense of the world around me. Fortunately, I'm not trapped by things like jealousy, ambition, high expectations or self esteem, so I read Hullabaloo and weep over the nation we might have had. See that you do the same.
